He has had only 3 jobs - Air Liquide, Mobil and Transportect. Paul has a BE in Chemical and Materials Engineering but since uni been more involved in management of operations, and more particularly, sales staff. He attends Eden Community Church ; is an Elder there and responsible for Fellowship ministries. Involved in sports, eg Totara Springs Sports Camp and administration of athletics and cross country. Passion: aiding people to achieve the best they can - whether that is work, sport or church involvement. Paul is a teller of terrible jokes and puns, but great fun to be around. Mr. Bern Manning - Vice Chairman :Length of Service= +20 years Bern is married to Caroline and they have three adult sons. They live in Mt Eden. Bern has a painting business and with his team of painters is involved in domestic and commercial contracting.Bern has had the privilege of being on the ECT since 1986 during which time he has seen countless young people find their adult feet and affirm their Christian faith while living at the hostel. Bern and Carolyn attend and are involved in the life of Eden Community Church. Bern has recently been appointed to the Board of the Auckland City West branch of Christian Lovelink. Mr. Robert Compton - Promotions :Length of Service= +28 years Robert and Margaret live in Takapuna. They have two adult sons. Robert grew up from age 5 on the hostel property which his parents Abe and Dorothy ran as the Assembly Missionary Home. Abe and Dorothy Compton gifted the land and buildings to the Trust for assembly work among the youth and they used the property for the establishment and inaugural 5 years of the Assembly Bible School followed by the move into the hostels for young men and women.Robert has been involved in the printing Industry for more years than he cares to remember, but is now retiring and becoming involved in theological study. Robert has been involved with the Trust for many years and he and Margaret fellowship at Takapuna Bible Chapel. Mr. Roger Yeoman - Secretary :Length of Service= +25 years Rodger and his wife Glenys are involved with Eden Community Church and has been a Board member for a number of years. Rodger is an Engineer and works for himself around Auckland. This is why Rodger was involved with the Hostel extension project, helping to ensure it was all designed and constructed correctly. The results speak for themselves, check out our extensions. Glenys is responsible for the great gardens around the hostel and does a great job keeping them looking special. Mr. Dave Padfield - Treasurer :Length of Service= +29 years Dave and his wife Sue (of 30 years) have spent some years in Papua New Guinea as missionaries and have 3 children, Chontelle, Alisha and Jarred. The family attend the local Brethren Church at Papakura where Dave is the treasurer. He is also the Chairman of the local Papakura Christian Service Trust, that is involved in a number of local activities, such as providing meals to over 1250 children every week in local schools, also a Budget service and Medical clinic (where he is the Director), where they provide free or heavily reduced medical services.
