Lolly Tree

  • Materials:
    • Firm card (or newspaper & cellophane)
    • Paper covered lollies or chocolates
    • Double sided cellotape
    • Green or red paint and paintbrushes
    • Scissors
    • Stapler
    • Ribbon
    Method:
  • Cut a cone shape out of firm card and staple together.
  • Cut the base so it sits straight.
  • Paint cone and leave to dry.
  • When paint is dry, stick a strip of double-sided tape around the base of the cone approximately 2-3cm up from the bottom. Remove the backing paper.
  • Push the centre section of a wrapped lolly onto the tape. Continue around cone till the whole layer is completed.
  • Stick another strip of tape around cone just above the 1st row. Place lollies so their twisted ends sit between the ends of the 1st row.
  • Continue until cone is covered. If some lollies don’t stick too well, stick a piece of tape directly onto lolly and then onto cone.
  • Tie a ribbon and place on top
  • Variation:
  • Squash newspaper into a tight ball.
  • Pierce with a stick or dowel so it looks like a ball on a stick.
  • Wrap cellophane around it and tie at base of the ball with a ribbon. Proceed the same as above with double-sided tape and lollies.
