Chairman’s Report for 2009

It has been some time since our last AGM and this is due to the fact of the Trust working through a number of very important issues. We now come to the time when we are very happy to move forward from what has been a very stressful time. The Trust is in good shape and all involved are privileged to serve the community in this way.  As Chairman it is an absolute privilege to be involved with our fellow trustees in these ministries.

As I look at this time passed “Angels light Breakfast club” have continued to faithfully provide breakfast for school children across Papakura and Takanini. Once again the stories from Teachers and caregivers of the growth in the Children and the ability to retain the information as a result of receiving breakfast before they start the school day is encouraging. It is sad our society needs this service but what a privilege it is to server our future generations.

During the past period The Keep Kids safe ministry has ceased operation as circumstances have changed but as a Trust we remain committed to the children of this area and will continue to seek to help them.

The Christian Care Budget Service continues to meet a vital need in the Papakura community and elsewhere, particularly during recessionary conditions. The service has provided free budgetary advice to well over 200 clients in the last year. The service has experienced some staff changes since our last AGM including the resignation of the Management Committee Chairman, and Coordinator, but is very thankful for the excellent team spirit that prevails, and the faithful support of volunteers, staff, and the Trust.

The Rosehill Christian Medical Centre has continued to serve the people of Rosehill in a very holistic way. It seeks to provide a level of care for its approx 2700 patients and has a dedicated staff. Doctors, Nurses, Practice Manager and front line staff are all totally committed to God and providing a caring environment where people feel accepted and listened to.

The Rapha Ministries continues to move along with plans being drawn up and funding been sort. The VISION of the ministry is – To provide a safe environment where broken people can come for and receive healing through the redeeming power and love of Jesus.  This is a Vision we are ALL committed to and wish to see this ministry eventuate. If you are able to help in this early stage please contact any Trustee.I wish to acknowledge the dedicated people on the Trust that make my job a breeze.

  • Linette Morgan is responsible for handling the finance and keeps us true and accurate. A lady of dedication and willingness to serve and see God’s kingdom extended.
  • Leanne Rohloff handles the funding applications for all Trust ministries and is very effective in all she does.  The Funding agencies she works with all know her and our funding is made easier as a result of Leanne’s dedication. Every ministry is blessed because Leanne is involved.
  • Bronca Fox is the Manager of Angels Light Breakfast Club and she brings a real passion to the Trust. It is hard to keep up with her with new ideas and drive all the time!
  • Tom Phillips is the Senior Minister of First Presbyterian Church. Tom has a Vision for this community and is a Leader amongst leaders.
  • Owen Frethey is the pastor of the Red Hill Community Church and joined the Trust early last last year. Owns passion is to care for the needed and he bring to the Board a level of compassion that is a pleasure to be part of.

Funding this year has been received from a number of sources but one that must be mentioned is “United Way” who has stood by and helped the Trust in a fantastic way, Thank you.

I wish to give God thanks for all our Trustees and those involved in every part of the ministries, without each and every one of you, we would not have been another blessing to our community in 2009. The PCST Trust is not only made up of a few who hold the title of Trustee BUT by EVERYONE who is involved in the ministries, from the volunteers who serve breakfast to the lady who cleans the medical centre,

THANK YOU.

Blessing to ALL involved in HIS ministry
Dave Padfield- Chairman
